Turkey Day Parade Is Irrelevant

Thanksgiving is a week away every family has their own traditions and ways to celebrate not only the holiday, but the parade as well.

For 87  years the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has been a tradition for New York. But over the last few years it seems to no longer carry the importance that it once did. Giant balloons and huge floats are no longer awe-inspiring, they’re just the norm. Something expected every year on the third Thursday of November.

Ramapo  College students and professors on campus talked instead about the inconvenience of the parade.

“I don’t know, it just seems inconvenient,” said one student, when asked whether he would go to the city to see the parade with his family.

Aother college student interviewed spent four years participating in the parade while she was dancing for her school’s marching band.
